Curing procedure? |
Eddie |
2023.10.19 |

Hi, i'm printing Superflex with the exact specified parameters on an Elegoo Saturn. Initially, the prints turned out well but after curing the were sticky as glue!
I read on a forum that for curing, the prints should be covered with water to seal them fr|om oxygen which would cause the stickyness while curing.
I print small pieces the size of a pen cap for medical purposes. If i put them in a beaker, cover them with water and cure them for 1h (!) they are no longer
sticky but the surface is no longer smooth but very rough. I found that letting the prints dry on Kleenex over night instead of drying them with hot air
does less harm to the surface but they are still not smooth.
Is there any recommended curing procedure i can follow to get flexible, clear and smooth prints that aren't sticky?
Thanks, E.

Hello, thank you so much for using SuperFlex.
There are many tips to solve the curing issue, below steps are what we do in our lab.
Some of sequence can be changed or deleted depending on the design of printer and curing device.
1.After printing, we use compressed air to remove excess resin in the print (not washing).
2.Cure the print with support.
3.Remove all support by cutter and grind off all bump and even out the over cure area using sandpaper or grinding tools.
4.Washing off the residue fr|om griding using water or IPA
5.Recoat the print by dipping in the same resin, or by flow coating with the resin.
6.Leave the recoated print until excess resin flow off, and post-cure the print in air first.
7.Then, post-cure it again under water or glycerin.

Hello,
the material has no tensile strength after curing.
A 1mm thick wall is even easier to tear than cardboard.
Is this normal?

How long should the superflex be post cured?
==================== 답 변 ====================
The post-curing time depends on the type of post-curing machine.
If you use Anycubic Wash & Cure 2.0, it take at least 30 mins to cure SuperFlex.
We recommend 120J/cm2 UVV energy for complete cure.
In case of a strong post curing machine that have 200mW/cm2 used, then
10 minutes = 200mW/cm2 x 60 sec x 10 min = 120,000mJ/cm2 = 120J/cm2 is needed
In case of a weak post curing machine that have 20mW/cm2 used, then
100 minutes = 20mW/cm2 x 60 sec x 100 min = 120,000mJ/cm2 = 120J/cm2 is needed

Thank you so much for using 3DMaterials.
We don’t have EPAX X156 in our lab, so we check their spec.
Since it use Color LCD, below setting is good starting point.
SuperFlex 50um Slicing
Bottom Layer 30 secs
Normal Layer 7.5 ~ 8.0 secs
Thank you
